The one thing that everyone typically understands about nutrition is their 5-a-day from fruit and vegetables. However, it is estimated that only 1 in 4 of us are able to consistently eat 5-a-day. It is more challenging than it seems as some may lack the knowledge of what is included within their 5-a-day. For a lot of us, we don’t see the importance of getting our 5-a-day due to a lack of knowledge and also the information that we are fed from the media. We are here to tell you that it is extremely important to get your 5-a-day consistently as this feeds your body with vital nutrients to improve your health and wellbeing.

 

Many of us are guilty of using supplements to try and fill a void of micronutrients rather than adapting them into our diet. However, this can be an issue as this will never replace a healthy diet. Having supplements shouldn’t mean that you no longer have to eat your 5-a-day as a piece of fruit, for example, contains a package of essential nutrients rather than the supplements that usually provide you with only one. This is because supplements tend to be specific for those that are lacking in one area such as potassium for example.
