Why Child Nutrition Classes are on the Rise

Parents and carers are increasingly looking for child nutrition classes to help them navigate their way through the masses of nutrition information out there. Be it on social media, websites, television or through friends and family, finding trustworthy information can be difficult.


It is natural to want the best for your children and nutrition is key to helping them get the best start in life. As children get older, they start to take more control over their food choices. Managing this and encouraging them to eat a healthy, varied diet can be a challenge for some families. Making sure the food they get at home is nutrient dense can help ensure they obtain all the necessary nutrients they need for good health.


Throughout childhood, thinking not only about their nutrient intake but also their food environment is key to enable a healthy food relationship to develop.


If your child is a fussy eater my child nutrition classes can provide lots of help, tips and recipes. This will help you to ensure they are still getting the nutrients they need whilst gradually expanding their repertoire. My youngest has not been the best eater since weaning so I know first-hand what it’s like when your child refuses foods. However, the range of foods she eats now has improved vastly. There is no magic switch but I can help you to make sure the food refusal is a phase rather than a permanent fixture!


Having a healthy weight during childhood can reduce the risk of overweight and obesity in adulthood. My child nutrition classes can guide you through how to help your child maintain a healthy weight.


On the other side, if your child needs help to keep weight on or to receive the right nutrition for a lot of sporting activities, the classes can also be tailored to cover this.
